Stations of the Cross WalkApril 7th @ 9am
At Sevenmile Gulch Trailhead, Prescott. For those who want to caravan to the location, we are meeting at the church at 8:15a (leaving at 8:30a) to drive to Sevemile Gulch Trailhead.
"The Stations of the Cross, also known as The Way of the Cross, are an act of devotion dating back to early Christianity, following the path of Jesus from his trial in front of Pilate to his burial in the tomb. Along the way, reflections and prayers are offered at key points in the story, focusing on the different aspects of Christ’s suffering, and asking us to mourn our sins. While the Stations can be prayed at any time, they are particularly appropriate for Lent, and often observed on Good Friday."1

Good Friday ServiceApril 7th @ 4:30pm
"On Good Friday, we remember the events leading up to and including the crucifixion and the crucifixion itself. The Solemn Collects are read, with the leader requesting prayer for a particular purpose (like the salvation of the lost), keeping silence while the people pray, and then “collecting” their prayers in a written prayer. As mentioned above, Eucharist is not celebrated on Good Friday because this is the day in which we try to live in the reality of the brutal starkness of the cross of Christ. In some places, Eucharist is administered from reserved sacrament—consecrated bread and wine that have been set aside during a previous service of Holy Communion."3
